Wow...I've actually managed to turn out another column in the space of one day...whew...well, Scotty never runs out of ideas, and so daily, semi daily, what-have-you, The Blazer's Edge will always knock yo' ass down for the one...two...three.
(and remember kiddies, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, is still good after four viewings...write that down...it's a tip)

05-22-99: World Wrestling Federation:

I have to give the poys the pops over at Titan Towers...their saturday morning program (at least the segments I saw) could almost be mistaken for WCW, save the differant faces. In fact, a few weeks ago, the Undertaker/Wight match was on, and the baseball bat which was broken over Wight's head was nowhere to be seen...well, at least WWF saw the potential lawsuits from angry parents there...as soon as some dumb kid smacked his friend with a baseball bat, his parents would blame Vinny. In any event, the real object of my ramblings today was to address the Hardy Boyz...I mentioned something about Indy-League feds in my last column, and so as a follow up, I thought it might be worth mentioning that I happened to flip on channel six this morning (public access) and catch a match with the Hardy Boyz in it...damn, these guys are just too much. Like I said in the last edition, cruiserweight competition is where it's at...too bad neither of the Hardys got the win in this four corners match. Also taking part in the antics were Omega Wrestling cruiserweight champion Chris York and monster heel, Joey Matthews. Mathews and York were good, and I've seen them wrestle many times before, but they couldn't touch the Hardys. Don't get me wrong, the two Indy-League stars were great, but neither of them really went on the fly the way The Hardy Boyz did. See, this is why they're so under appreciated in the WWF. Titan slaps some street colthes on them, throws in a free bird, and that's their push. Now the Hardys might have needed to be repackaged, but as far as I could tell, there was nothing wrong with them. Anyway, just as an anfter thought, this push with the Hardy Boyz will probably result in Christain and Edge (among others) getting some signifigantly better in-ring exposure. We can only hope.

Is it just me, or does WCW hit the overkill mark on hours a week? If we're talking about WCW style, I can only endure so much. If the WCW wants to play it smart, they need to stop worrying about making fun of the WWF. Now I didn't actually see them doing this on Saturday Night, but still. Think about this: WCW moves Nitro to tuesday, ditches Thunder, citing the probable Smackdown debut, and concentrates on wrestling that is ONLY WCW. With the WWF left to Monday and Thursday, the wrestling marks will come a'flockin to their TVs if WCW decides to go at it on seperate nights. Forget the rating wars, forget trying to imitate the federation on top, do it on seperate nights. If you can get the big talent onto all of your shows, you'll eat up the ratings, not have to worry about who did what first, and most importantly, it'll be WCW again...the way they were when they were on top. I'm sure this would free up an awful lot of pent up aggression. I'd sure like to see what sort of storylines WCW can turn out without worrying about the WWF reaction. Think about it Teddy Boy...

Well, that's it for now. Maybe next time, I can get around to some ECW EXTREME OPINIONS...until then...
